The insigh.io Scale shield is used to implement IoT applications requiring weight-based information. To do so the shield exposes:

  • An input for connecting load cells able to provide weight measurements
  • An input for controlling scale calibration (button enabling the tare function)
  • Inputs for audio (buzzer) and visual (led) indicators supporting user interactions
  • An input for attaching RFID reader to support user interaction

The shield has been tested with various load cells in the context of beehives and bins monitoring.
