The insigh.io Satellite connectivity shield is used for providing connectivity when cellular coverage is not present. In such cases, ASTROCAST's proprietary direct-to-satellite technology can be used in the most remote places imagined, assuming a non obstructed deployment. The board integrates ASTROCAST's radio modem and a patch antenna.

Add-ons

The module comes with:

  • A flex ribbon cable for attaching the shield to the main board
  • (optionally) A dedicated GPS and an external flexible antenna for ensuring consistent tracking

Requirements

  • A subscription to ASTROCAST's data service is required to get the data. This subscription can be offered by insigh.io, allowing to directly port the data to Console.
